IMCAT - 88th Texas Legislature IMCAT Legislative Priorities

Require and/or reconfigure proclamation timelines to ensure adequate funding for delayed/cancelled proclamations.

These decisions create ongoing costs which are unaccounted for in the “gap” years between proclamations. Additional processes will help account for items with ongoing costs during these years such as:
1. Digital access; and
2. Interactive Consumables.

Reconfigured timelines will also assist districts with IMTA funding by avoiding back-to-back, major proclamations within the same biennium.

Oppose and eliminate unnecessary IMTA carve outs and continue protection of the IMA, including maintaining the purposes as stated in SB 6.

Oppose any legislation which may usurp the State Board of Education authority or processes.
